The way he loves me

Earlier this year, I decided to take 30 Days Husband Encouragement Challenge. Part of the challenge is to notice what your husband does and let him know how much you appreciate him and what he does for you or your family. Chris and I speaks different Love Languages. His is Acts of Service and Quality Time, where as mine are Words of Affirmation and Physical Touch. In the past, I often miss it when he speaks his love his way and expect him to do it my way.

"Sometimes we get disillusioned because of our own unreasonable or unrealistic expectation. It may not be that our mates are doing something wrong; it's simply that we expect too much in some areas. Our expectation must be met in God alone, and then we will have the right perspective to ask God for the grace we need to respond to others." Nancy LeighMoss

After reading the challenge, I decided to take pictures to record and appreciate things my husband does such as these:

I told him the night before that the kitchen sink's pipe is leaking. It was late night already so he told me that he would fix tomorrow when he got home from work. When I woke up, I found his note saying, "it's fixed!" He was working on the pipe before he went to work {at 6 AM!}.

The next day of so {it was Valentine's Day i believe} our dishwasher clogged {what a coincidence}. Wasting no time, just after he got home from work my handyman got it working again in no time. Yay!

My composting bin lacks some 'browns'. We live in a condo complex and couldn't find many leaves on the ground so I told Chris to remind me to get some brown leaves from church on Sunday. Coming back from church I said to him, "O no I forgot to take home some leaves." To which he replied, "I got it. It's on the top of the bin. It's all yours"

Most husbands do not like to go grocery shopping but my husband never mind and actually enjoy doing it. Since I was pregnant with Wes, he does our grocery shopping more often than me.

He soothes the baby when I am too tired to do so
He works diligently every day for our family
He notices little things I like and tries his best to make it happens: a moment to sew, to blog, a pinterest projects to do, and so much more.
He is not perfect by all means but I am not either.

To my wonderful husband, THANK YOU for loving our family and for all the things you do. You make us laugh, you make us feel secure, you make us feel loved. We thank God daily for you.

  1. Kiki, I'm so very grateful for you and your family and reading your blog has been such a blessing to me. It's a crazy time at work (not sure if you know, I'm a tax accountant so this is a crazy busy time for me) and it's great and very refreshing to read your blogs during my break (I started doing so this week LOL!) to remind me of hope, perseverance and God in the midst of this stressful time.

Also, I certainly hope I will find the right Godly man just like you did :)

  4. Oh, the gift of a great man! I love the idea of looking for ways to encourage my husband even in just the stuff he does all the time. Those dishes that he gets to before I have the last kid tucked into bed. The lightbulbs he changes. The bills he pays. thank you for the encouraging reminder!
