This Thanksgiving and Thankful List 2013

Monday, December 2, 2013

We caught a cold bug {again}. Thankfully, we had our Thanksgiving Dinner Gatherings early this month. Originally, we planned to attend our church annual retreat but because the boys and I still sick; we opted to stay home:

and work on our nativity scene. Got the template from this wonderful site: Made by Joel

Sew a few comfort things for my older women friends

Sew a few totes for dear friends

Of course I had to make up for the time I spent in front of the sewing machine {leaving my exuberant boys in the care of their super daddy} by:
Cooking Julia Child's Beef Bouguinon

and baking Molten Chocolate Cake {recipe coming soon}

which made my husband a very happy man.

I also got chance to read Kisses from Kate, a 19 years old who left her comfortable life in America to move to Uganda to love and serve the orphans. Katie's story challenged and inspired me to stop thinking about me, to love, serve, and give more. She shared one verse that ring deep in my heart, "Be imitators of God, therefore, as dearly loved children and live a life of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God." Ephesians 5:1

So that's what's happening these past few days in this house. God is good and we are so very grateful

My Thankful List 2013 {without peeking from my previous years' lists}
- My Lord and Savior, His Spirit, His Words
- Loving husband and darling kids

- Family and friends near and far, old and new
- Home, running water, power that rarely goes out , clean air, sunshine in November
- The ability to learn, read, cook, bake, sew, write, communicate, walk, type, eat, sing, love, and serve

- Hugs, kisses, fellowship time with  family and friends, and words of encouragement
- The fact that Wesley can now sleep through the night after 2.5 years, which means we finally got to sleep through the night peacefully. Hallelujah!

- Many many people who inspire and challenge me to keep loving, learning, and growing...
- and I am thankful for you for taking the time out of your day to visit our little corner. Thank you!

Praying that you experience His love, joy, and peace this season and through out the New Year.

Psalm 100
Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth
Worship the Lord with gladness
come before him with joyful songs
Know that the Lord is God.
It is he who made us, and we are his;
we are his people, the sheep of his pasture

Enter his gates with thanksgiving
and his courts with praise
give thanks to him and praise his name
for the Lord is good and his love endures forever
His faithfulness continues through all generations.
