Verses for 2011

Monday, January 17, 2011

I have been praying and thinking for a theme for this year and finally one night during our family prayer time, Chris mentioned this sentence, "More of Him and Less of Me." So that becomes my theme this year.

John 3:30 " He must become greater, I must become less."

Simplemom.net has this Goal Setting Questions , which I found to be very useful to help us set up our 2011 goals. What I want to share are the Bible Verses that God gave me as guidelines and directions for me to grow in 2011:

- Personal:

"The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control." Galatians 5:22-23

- Marriage:

Your beauty should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight.” 1 Peter 3:4

- Children/Homeschooling:

May these words of my mouth and this meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, LORD, my Rock and my Redeemer.” Psalm 19:14

- Ministry/ Friendships/ Extended Family:

"Whoever finds his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for my sake will find it." Matthew 10:39

God reminded me through this verse to not focusing on myself but on Him, the Giver of life.

As we welcome the new addition of our family this year, my primary ministry as a wife and mother is to take care of the precious blessings that God has blessed me with. However, we continue to pray that God continue to use our family through prayers, hospitality, friendship, and other means to be a blessing for others.

- Financial:

“Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.” 2 Corinthians 9:6-8
