The Fall

Chris forwarded me this video below one day:

I heard many stories of babies fell, children injured, and little hands got burned… Accidents happen even to the best kids, parents, any ones...
It only takes a split second, one foolish decision, one stupid mistake....

I went up stair to change my clothes while Max was down stair playing. While I was changing clothes, I heard little steps climbing up the stairs. I let him be because he is used to climb up the stairs on his own since he was 9 months old plus going up is safer going down – I thought.

The next thing I heard was the sound of something fell. My heart sank, immediately, I ran to the stairs, where I found Max still falling down the stairs. I ran down the stairs and by God's grace was able to catch him seconds before he hit the floor. I don’t know exactly where, how, or how far he fell. I held him in my arms as he cried out loud but only for a little while. He stopped crying when he saw me sobbing and kept saying "I'm sorry". Not long after he stood up, ran, and back to his usual silly self while I was still in shocked.

Miraculously Max is fine. We couldn’t find a single bump, bruise, or a scratch on him. I touched every part of his body to see if he feels any pain somewhere but he was completely okay. What a huge lesson I learned: God has entrusted this little one in my care and it is my job to do my best every single day though there are times when I fail, make mistake, and screw up. O how I need His guidance, wisdom, and power each day.

I went to bed grateful, humbled, and thankful; realizing that every single moment I spend with my love ones is a blessing, a God given privilege. I want to close this sharing with my husband's response when I told him what happened, "People makes mistake, we can't change the past, but we can always learn from it." :)
