Green Smoothies/ Popsicle

I first heard about green smoothies from my neighbor Silvi. She told me that all I have to do is adding a handful {or more as prefer} of spinach when I make smoothies. I was worried about the taste but she convinced me that I won't even taste the spinach and she was right. The best part is seeing my boys eating veggies enthusiastically.

The main cast: any fruits in season: berries, bananas, apples/ kiwi/ peach, yogurt, milk, ice cubes, baby spinach, and diluted honey-optional
Put them inside a blender

If you don't own Vitamix blender; you may use rolling pin to help mixing the ingredients like I do just make sure it doesn't touch the blade. :)

And below is the Avocado-Spinach version:

Closer look:

When we have some left over I'd pour them into this Popsicle mold {I loveee this mold, I used to use a cheaper version because I am cheap but had a hard time taking the Popsicle out so no more cheap Popsicle mold.} and freeze them. That way the next day I don't need to make another batch and the boys got to eat the frozen version:

Green Smoothies/ Popsicle
Printable Recipe
1 cup of ice cubes
1 apple/ pear/ kiwi {anything in season} - peeled and cut into small pieces
1 cup of frozen berries - rinsed
1.5 banana -  {I usually use frozen banana, which I peeled, cut earlier}
1 Tb honey diluted with 2 Tb hot water - optional only when the fruits are sour
1 handful of baby spinach - rinsed and drained {I like to buy the big package from Costco. If we couldn't finish them then I put some inside Ziploc bags and freeze them}
1 cup of milk
1 cup of yogurt

Put all of the ingredients inside a blender, in the order listed above then blend until smooth.
