Verses for labor and beyond

I compiled these verses when I was pregnant with Max. Reading/ memorizing these verses has been such a help for me during though times. I remember repeating 2 Corinthians 2:19 in my head as I pushing Wesley out of the womb:  "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness."

1. Psalm 23:1- 6: The Lord is my shepherd, “I shall not be in want, He makes me lie down in green pastures, He leads me beside quiet waters, He restores my soul. He guides me in paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.

2. Psalm 27:1-2: The Lord is my light and my salvation - whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life - of whom shall I be afraid?

3. Psalm 27:14: Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord

4. Psalm 29:11: The Lord gives strength to His people; the Lord blesses His people with peace.

5. Psalm 34:17-18: The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears them; He delivers them from all their troubles. The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.
6. Psalm 73:26: My flesh and my heart may fail but the Lord is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.

7. Psalm 139: 13- 14a: For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful.
8. Isaiah 41:10: So do not fear, for I am with you, do not be dismayed, for I am your God, I'll strengthen you and help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

9. Zechariah 4: 6: Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit,' says the LORD Almighty
10. Matthew 11:28-30: Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for i am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light."

11. Romans 5:2b-5: We rejoice in hope of glory of God. Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our heart by the Holy Spirit, whom He has given us.

12. 2 Corinthians 1:3-4: Praise be to God and Father of our Lord, Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our trouble so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God.

13. 2 Corinthians 12: 9: But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me.
14. Philippians 4:6-7: Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guide your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.

15. 1 Peter 5:6-7: Humble yourselves, therefore, under God's mighty hand that He might lift you up in the due time. Cast your anxiety on Him because He cares for you.

16. 1 Peter 3:3-4: Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as braided hair and the wearing of gold jewelry and fine clothes. Instead, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God's sight.

17. Hebrew 13: 5: Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.

18. James 5:16: Therefore, confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.
