Let the Word of God Speak

Wednesday, June 20, 2012

I am using this bible reading plan for my daily quiet time. After reading, I usually write down on my journal one or more verses that stood out for me. God's Words never cease to amaze, challenge, and humble me. Below are some of the verses that I wrote down:

"I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. John 10:10

"He must become greater; I must become less." John 3:30

"Be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry." James 1:19b

"Make it your ambition to lead a quiet life: You should mind your own business and work with your hands, just as we told you" 1 Thessalonians 4:11

"Let him labor, working with his hands what is good, that he may have something to give him who has need." Ephesians 4:28
"Let your speech always be with grace" Colossians 4:6a

"Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may impart grace to the hearers - Ephesians 4:29

"The heart of her husband safely trusts her; so he will have no lack of gain.  She does him good and not evil all the days of her life." Proverbs 31:11-12

"Pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance and gentleness. Fight the good fight of the faith." 1 Timothy 6:11-12a

"Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity." 1 Tim 4:12

"Women must likewise be dignifiednot malicious gossips, but temperate, faithful in all things." 1 Timothy 3:11
"As God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.
Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone.
Forgive as the Lord forgave you
And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.
Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful.
Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts.
And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him." Colossians 3: 12-17

"Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters," Colossians 3:23

"Whatever you do, do all to the glory of God." 1 Corinthians 10:31

"All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work."
2 Timothy 3:16-17
