Our Words Got Power

Yawn!
Yes you read it correctly, Yawn!
Research says that when we read or hear the word yawn, then it's likely that we yawn within 10 seconds after reading, hearing, or seeing the word in action.

I was in tears when I read Genesis 33:4 this morning when I read this verse:
"Esau ran to meet Jacob and embraced him; he threw his arms around his neck and kissed him. And they wept."

Sure, it may have something to do with me being emotional and imagining my boys being reunited after years living apart from each other but I think the reason why I shed tears was because the last word: wept.

Couple days ago, I was unable to sleep because someone said one word that keeping me up that night. I am not gonna share what's the word and the incident because it wasn't the person fault but me being over sensitive. However, that incident reminded me of this point again and again" our words got  power

Before we got married, Chris and I went to Family Life Weekend to Remember Conference {We love it and highly recommend the event to every married couple. Let me know if any of you interested to go because I have a discount code} Anyway, one of the speaker shares that we can choose to speak words that encourage and build others up or words that criticize and tears them down.

We ought to think first before we speak. If we don't have anything nice to say then don't say anything. If we feel it's necessary to say something then speak the truth in love.

I write this as a personal reminder for myself because I am an extrovert and I struggle with guarding my tongue from time to time. There were of many occasions when I hurt someones especially my love ones with my words whether intentionally or accidentally. :(

I was very blessed when I heard Francis Chan's message on this topic titled: Choose Your Words Wisely

God help me. "May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, O Lord my Rock and my Redeemer." Psalm 19:14
