This is our last day at Lassen. We had breakfast and start packing up:
The kids were busy watching something
 
Let's take a closer look:
 
We then drove down to the hiking trail to Bumpass Hell, which is a moderate 3 mile hike round trip. Without 4 kids, we would do it in a heart beat but it took us a minute looking at each other before one of us said, "Let's do it!"
 

Pretty blue flower field we found along the trail:
After 1.5 miles and way too many "are we there yet?"

We made it! Yay!!!
 
One of the proudest moment of my life :)
   
At the end of the trail is a volcanically active area with steam vents, boiling mud holes and lakes.
 
 
    



    

Now let's see if we can make it back :)

This famous poem by Robert Frost below summed up how we feel at the end of the hike:
