Down with Flu

All three of us are down with flu today. Started with Chris, then me, then Max. It is physically and emotionally more tiring when our kid is sick then when we ourselves are sick. Max were sick 90% of the times he was in Indo. First he suffers from diarrhea, then he was infected with rozeolla infantum, which caused fever followed by rash all over his body. I cried a lot during that time. I cried when he cries and can't be soothed. I cried when I saw him pooping again and again, I cried when his fever didn't go down. It's so hard to see him who usually active and smiley became so weak and fuzzy. He has always been a good eater before he got sick. He used to drink 180 ml at one time, but in Indonesia in average he only drinks 100 ml. We prayed every time we gave him milk that he will drink it. I remember one afternoon my mom happily told me that Max just finished his milk. She said "I prayed, in Jesus Name, please let Max drink his milk. And he did." Thank God.

During that time, I experience God's lo
ve that gives me peace and understanding. "Because of the LORD's great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail.They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness." Lamentation 3:22-23
I'm reminded for not taking our health for granted. Good health is indeed a blessing from the Lord. Due to various sickness, Chris lost 7 pounds, I lost 4 pounds, and Max lost 2-3 pounds. Below is Max picture before and after he got sick:
