Happy New Year!!

Thursday, December 31, 2009

We spent the New Year evening at church, went home, rent $1 DVD @ redbox, put Max to sleep, then watch the DVD: Julie & Julia. If you like cooking, blogging, or if you like me simply like watching a heart warming movie this is a movie for you to watch. The best part for me was watching Chris laughed. It's been a while since we watched a movie together.

Anyway, it's New Year Eve, made me recall the best New Year Eve I ever experienced: 2003, when Chris and I got to celebrate the New Year at Urbana. I'm so glad that some of our brothers and sisters in Christ were able to go to Urbana this year.

Max and my other children, if you read this in the future, please keep in mind that it's mommy's dream for you guys to go to Urbana. Save, work, and do whatever it takes in order for you to be able to go. It will one of the highlight of you life. In case you are wondering here is a sneak peak of what's urbana looks like but it's nothing compared to experience it yourself.
One of the Worship session on December 31, 2006:
The messages:
Rick & Kay Warren: Challenge to Hear God's Call
Brenda Salter McNeil: From Brokenness to Reconciliation

Last but not least, I want to share the prayer that Rick Warren lead the Urbana participants to pray at Urbana '06:

Today I'm stepping across the line.
I am tired of waffling and I'm finished with wavering.

I've made my choice, the verdict is in, and my decision is irrevocable.

I'm going God's way. There's no turning back now!
I will live the rest of my life serving God's purposes with God's people on God's planet for God's glory.

I will use my life to celebrate His presence, cultivate His character, participate in His family, demonstrate His love, and communicate His words.

Since my past has been forgiven, and I have a purpose for living, and a home awaiting in heaven, I refuse to waste anymore time or energy on shallow living, petty thinking, trivial talking, thoughtfulness doing, useless regretting, hurtful resenting, or faithless worrying.

Instead, I will magnify God, grow to maturity, serve in ministry, and fulfill my mission in the membership of His family.

Because this life is preparation for the next, I will value worship over wealth, "we" over "me", character over comfort, service over status, people over possessions, position, and pleasures.

I know what matter most and I give it all I got.
I do the best I can with what I have for Jesus Christ today.

I won't be captivated by culture, manipulated by critics, motivated by praise, frustrated by problem, debilitated by temptation, or intimidated by the devil.

I'll keep running my race with my eyes on the goal, not the sidelines or those running by me.

When times get though, and I get tired, I won't back up, back off, back down, back out, or back slide. I'll keep moving forward by God's grace.

I'm Spirid-lead, purpose-driven, and mission-focused so I cannot be bought, I will not be compromised, and I shall not quit until I finished the race.

I'm a trophy of God's amazing grace so I will be gracious to anyone, grateful for everyday, and generous with everything God entrusts to me.

To my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, I say - However, Whenever, Wherever, and Whatever You ask me to do, my answer in advance is yes!
Wherever you lead and whatever the cost I'm ready. Anytime. Anywhere. Anyway.
What ever it takes Lord; whatever it takes!

I want to be used by You in such a way , that on that final day I'll hear you say, "Well done now good and faithful one. Come on in and let the eternal party begin!

Have a blessed New Year, everyone!
