Grace Alone

Sunday, June 20, 2010

I just experienced the words of this song:

Grace alone Which God supplies
Strength unknown He will provide
Christ in us, our cornerstone
We will go forth in grace alone.

Fiuh... what a huge relieve. Thank you for praying with me.

I lost my voice on Friday morning, the day we're supposed to share at the Youth Fellowship. I immediately sent an e-mail asking some of my sisters in Christ to pray for us. By Friday evening I got 80% of my voice back. Praise the Lord for wonderful friends and God's healing power.

We had a blessed time at the youth fellowship. I put the outline material that I shared here. Prayerfully it will encourage all of us to live a pure life set apart for God in this corrupted world.

On Saturday, I lost my voice again. This time my throat hurt too. We had a music practice in the afternoon and I barely can sing. The music team then prayed for me. Still with my small faith, I tried to look for other option. I called Santi asking if it's possible for her to replace me to lead the worship on Sunday. She answered, "Can't, I have to teach Sunday School. Don't worry, you will have your voice back tomorrow." I hang up the phone feeling encouraged. "Lord, I will try my best."

Later on that evening Elisse and her family came over. Earlier that week she has agreed to be my translator. We had a combined service last Sunday and previously the one who lead worship would speak in two languages: English & Indonesian. I tried to do so but I kept mixing up so I asked Elisse if she would be willing to be my translator. I asked her to pray first. She answered, "I feel that God wanted me to do it but I'm sooooo scared." She came by that evening so we can practice before the next day service.

Grace Alone, which God's supplies

I wake up Sunday morning feeling much better than previous days... I keep praying, "Lord please give my voice back." And He did. Not 100% but it's enough for me to talk and sing a bit.

Strength unknown He will provide

By the time the Sunday Service ended. I barely have any voice left. I talked with some people and they were amused because they can still hear me clearly during the Service.
That's God. He still do miracle.
Forgive me Lord for my little faith.

Christ in us, our cornerstone

By His Grace, He provides friends who helped us to share some of the load:
- Fonda, Bertha, The Satriya and The Kee's family for babysitting Max for 2-3 hours for 4 nights as Chris and I prepared for the sharing.
- My jolly little boy who happily goes with anyone who pick him and excitedly explore the new places.
- Nana for making the Father Day's powerpoint slide
- Elisse for helping with translation
- Joan, Santi, Pak Tim and others for their prayer and encouragement
- Fonda, Ci Jujun, and Ci Dewi who took care of the children choir
God is good!

We will go forth in grace alone.

He said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me. - 2 Corinthians 12:9
